Hey there, it’s Christa!
Glimpses Inside the Writer-y Life

Welcome to my little corner of the Internet, everyone.
I’ve been making up stories for a living since 1998. Fueled by fever dreams and cold brew, I spend an inordinate number of hours in front of my MacBook working on my freelance articles and novels.
My latest is titled The Honorary Italians. The story of a motley crew of Minnesotans who decide to cook and eat their way through all 20 regions of Italy without leaving the Land of 10,000 Lakes, it’s a total escape that shouldn’t be read on an empty stomach. Consider yourself warned.
For more updates on when The Honorary Italians will be available in a store near you, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter and check out my Instagram feed for what’s inspiring me at the moment. Chances are, you’ll catch my latest travel adventures and whatever I’ve been cooking and baking.
Thanks for stopping by,
Christa

Summer Reads With Major Vacation Vibes
I can hardly believe it's been a year (!!!) already since Will and I visited France, Monaco, and Italy for a little over two weeks. I've been scrolling through pics and can still hardly believe all the breathtaking places we encountered along the way.
Making Cheese? Just Part of Novel Research

An Abby Jimenez Appreciation Post
Readers have been loving Abby Jimenez's novels long before I first stumbled upon Part of Your World. But now that I'm officially part of the Abbyverse (I just made that up), I look forward to whatever she's working on next...
An Intriguing Book Club Pick
One of the fun things about our book club is that I choose the evening's menu based on something referenced in the novel. But depending on the book, it's not always an easy choice.
I Don’t Want to Jinx it But It’s…
It's not even the end of March and I must say...it's been a really good year for reading so far. I'm currently 24 books into the annual Goodreads reading challenge, and I've enjoyed so many stories from various genres.
Book Club Flashback to 1987
The first rule of book club is that you don't talk about...oh wait, that's Fight Club, nevermind. In all seriousness, the first rule about our DFW book club is that everyone gets a turn to choose whatever novel they want.
