We’ve officially reached the list-y time of the year.

You know the one where everyone from the The New York Times, to Entertainment Weekly, to your favorite blogger (raises hand!) compiles a best-of list of books, TV shows, movies, you name it…

Since it’s been a minute since I worked at a magazine where we had these sorts of lively debates for hours and hours, I’m keeping it simple. I’m sharing 15 books I absolutely loved in 2023.

Just for the record, a couple of these released earlier than 2023 but were new to me.

My criteria? Pure, page-turning enjoyment no matter the genre.

And now with no further adieu, here are my favorites in no particular order…

* Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

* Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

* The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

* Hello Stranger by Katherine Center

* None of This is True by Lisa Jewell

* The Mostly True Story of Tanner & Louise by Colleen Oakley

* The Sweet Spot by Amy Poeppel

* Saturday Night at the Lakeside Supper Club by J. Ryan Stradal

* Forever Hold Your Peace by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke

* Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano

* Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

* The Patron Saint of Second Chances by Christine Simon

* Jacqueline in Paris by Ann Mah

* The Good Part by Sophie Cousens

* Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan

Now how about you? What were some of your all-time favorite reads in 2023?
