Hello friends, family, and all you voracious reader types,
I've written what feels like a gazillion e-newsletters for my friends in the music industry over the years, so I must admit that it feels a bit strange to be writing a newsletter that's about, well, me. But here goes nothing...
I don't know about you, but I'm still a little in denial about it being the end of the summer. It doesn't seem all that long ago that I was trading in my heavy sweaters and jeans for shorts and t-shirts. And now, here we are, seeing ads for "back to school" clothes, and I feel like I should be stocking up on Ticonderoga pencils, even though I haven't been in school for oh, nine years now.
But the end of the summer does signal that something pretty exciting is around the corner...the release of my debut novel, "Around the World in 80 Dates: Confessions of a Christian Serial Dater." The official release date is October 15 (only 45 days away), and I could be happier since I feel like I've been talking about it (and working on it) forever. For those who simply can't wait, you can now pre-order your copy at Amazon.com by checking out this link (it's a long one!): http://www.amazon.com/Around-World-80-Dates-Confessions/dp/160006177X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/103-1960915-3455819?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1182465462&sr=1-3
Otherwise, it'll be available at your favorite local bookstore, too.
In the coming weeks, I'll have more information on upcoming book signings, etc., as I've hired the most fantastic publicist in the world, Jenn Hanson-dePaula, to help me coordinate these things. I've also received my first couple of reviews (a weird experience in and of itself as I'm a music/book/movie critic myself), so things are moving along quite nicely.
As many of you know, I'm also knee deep in writing my second novel that's a sequel to "Around the World in 80 Dates," so I'll also have plenty of updates on that in the days to come. So far, it's tentatively called "Blessed Are the Meddlers," and I'm having so much fun figuring out the next leg of Sydney's journey.
But in the meantime, I just want to thank each and every one of you who've been such an encouragement to me in this entire crazy novel-writing process. I can't wait for you to read the book...
Hope all is going well for each one of you reading...have a great week!
Love from Minnesota,
Christa
